Deniliquin classic films, Caulfield Cup, and more

Good morning everyone,

Well as planned, “wings of giant silver bird” delivered us back again. A bit of catching up to be done here, but I’m sure I’ll be in the swing of things again by next week.

Where do I start? Deniliquin is first cab off the rank, with a screening of “High Tide”, remember that classic movie you older people? Deni. Film Society is screening it next Friday at 7.30 PM free entry.

You should fill in the week there and then go to the Denni. Caulfield Cup Race meeting the following week end the 20th. Lets know if you didn’t get the brochures please Jane.

We’ve got the Community Markets in Broken Hill next Saturday if you’re about, and of course the team at “Out of the Ordinary Outback” have heaps of tours going out of “the Hill” through the school holidays. You have another choice whilst in the Hill now, head out to the Mt. Gipps complex for a quiet drink and relaxed meal.

Now the next weekend is a big one in White Cliffs. Saturday the 20th. is a get together “of cockies and miners”. A day of yarns, laughs, stories (true or false), followed by one hell of a concert that night with Graham Conners, take your swag!

Haven’t gathered up any more activities for you so far, but would like to say a special farewell to Jen and Blue who are moving on from Warrawong Caravan Park in Wilcannia. Thanks for all you both have done and your support of our community. We look forward to welcoming your replacements.

Don’t forget to drop into our little town, or all the little towns for that matter. We boast an RV Friendly town in Wilcannia, caravan Dump Point, best coffee within coo ee, best chinese food anywhere around, and a century and a half of history!

Bit of rain around and some more coming, careful on the dirt roads, look out for your mate and take care, Bill Elliott.  Wilcannia Tourism Association.
