The Silver City Quilters, Balranald Races, Open Garden Day and more

Hello everyone,

Was certainly right about the dry roads! Will be for a while me thinks. Hope you all enjoyed your week and met at least one new friend.

Now, if you are in Broken Hill, “The Silver City Quilters” are holding their bi-annual exhibition, started Saturday and finishes today, so you better be quick ladies. It won’t take all day so duck out to Silverton afterwards and try to take in the RFDS Base as well.

Big weekend coming up at Balranald remember. 9th. to 11th. The 5 Rivers Outback Festival. It’s all happening down there next weekend and you’ll really enjoy it. They are also celebrating 150 years for the Balranald Central School, won’t there be some memorabilia to see there.

If you’re not in any hurry you could hang around the little town, do a bit of fishing, (they tell me, prawns or calamari!), and catch the Balranald Races on the 31st. Got to be worth thinking about.

Not down Balranald way, then you may be near Nyngan, Open Garden Day on in Nyngan on next Sunday the 11th. Check out the Big Bogan while you are there.

No rain in sight, as you probably know. Up to 38 degrees today and tomorrow, but back down to the 20’s on Wednesday, so don’t despair.

Remember those outback radio stations, they are there to guide and entertain you no matter where you are. 576, 585, 657, 999, 1584, and FM 103.1 and 107.7.

The Long weekend and school holidays has me a little short of festivities, however next week is another creation.

Take care now and keep an eye on that temperature gauge on the dash these next couple of days. Till next week, cheers Bill Elliott WCTA.

“Tomorrow is an important day for you. It’s the first day of the rest of your life.”
