Broken Hill Art Gallery Exhibition, 150 years Louth, Markets and more

Good morning all,

No weather report this morning, out of my comfort zone at the moment looking after 3 beaut grandkids. And you wouldn't want this weather.

I'm sorry this is going to be a bit brief but back to my usual self next week.

The biggest event coming up is the 150 year celebration of Louth next weekend. The Celebration Dinner will be held on Saturday the 31st. Marg has advised me  that it's going to be a great weekend up there, so if you are within cooee of the Darling river town then please go along.

Then the next weekend is the Burra Country Music Festival. It's the 6th. 7th. and 8th. November and they will welcome you if you can be there.

And then if you are near Ivanhoe on Monday the 2nd. you must go along to the RSL Club for the Melbourne Cup Calcutta, starts at 8 PM. And of course the Melbourne Cup luncheon on Tuesday.

Broken Hill Art Gallery will open a new exhibition at 6.00pm on the 30th October featuring local artists, including works by Wilcannia’s Brian Harris. The Art Gallery also has a permanent exhibition featuring the works of many Broken Hill artist including Jack Absalom, Pro Hart and Eric Minchin.

Broken Hill Community Markets will be held in Beryl Street on the 14th November and their Christmas Pageant is scheduled for the 6th December.

Wilcannia will hold a Remembrance Day service at Baker Park on Wednesday 11th November. Any other towns holding services please let’s know.

More next week, remember, dirt roads, radio stations,  look out for your mate, and above all, you take care.

Cheers  Bill Elliott.  WCTA.
