Flowers for miles, Wentworth Country Music, Menindee Fishing Comp, and more

Hello  everyone,

Another half inch of rain yesterday afternoon, almost a daily occurrence isn’t it? Feed for miles, wildflowers where we’ve never seen them before. Have you seen any Sturt desert Peas yet? They’re definitely about. Don’t try to drive over to them though, the country would bog an Army Duck at the moment.

Hope the two big items at White Cliffs and Ivanhoe went well over the weekend. Roads could have been a problem at Ivanhoe.

Coming up, the Wentworth Country Music extravaganza is in full swing so if you’re about, spare an hour or two.

If you’re heading to Broken Hill, then the Rural Women’s gathering is on next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Of course when you are there you must drop in and see the staff at the Visitors Information Centre and they will have a heap of things you can do for a week or more.

Remember the Menindee Fishing Comp. it was postponed, well it’s on for sure now on the 22-23rd. October. And if you’re planning on going down Nymagee way, then the Nymagee Flower Show is being held on the 10th. October, should imagine it will be a great day too.

Can’t find much else to guide you to this week, and for goodness sake don’t go off the bitumen. So really i suppose, if the sun’s out grab a chair, a book, and a glass of red and you’re set.

Till next week, and who knows what that will bring, take care won’t you.  Cheers  Bill Elliott.  Wilcannia Tourism Association.
