Roads conditions, Modern Living Expo, Festival of 1000 stories, and more

Hello everyone,

Another new face on the page, and my apologies to John and Kim who just slipped off the radar, welcome back. Another brilliant week coming up weather wise. Seems you’ll be safe poking along those dirt roads you’ve always wanted to check out.

Travelled down to smell the salt air yesterday and today and some really good feed and crops along the way, but not a lot of things happening as I see it.

However, if you are near Broken Hill on the 21st. then the World Record Stargazing is on at the racecourse at 7 PM, shouldn’t be cloudy. If you have time to hang around then they have the Modern Living Expo. at the racecourse on 29/30th. compliments of the Broken Hill Rotary Club, all local exhibitors too.

Then, if you are up in the other neck of the woods, you can be part  of the big Agquip Field Days at Gunnedah on the 18-19-20th. It will take you 3 days to get around it all, and all heaps of fun. You have to skip back to Bourke then for the Major Fishing Comp that’s on there on the 21-23rd.

September is gathering momentum, with Bourke again on the 5th. Festival of 1000 stories. Then the Quilpie Show and Rodeo on the 12th. not that far from Bourke. And back out in the Corner Country we have the Ram sales on again at Mt. Gipps Station, could be the  first time you’ve been to a ram sale, (don’t brush a fly!). looking way out but got to tell you, the Nanua Picnic Races, be there on the 16/17th.

Remember our friendly Swagman? Saw a photo of him at the Nevertire Coffee Shop! So he’s past there. By the way, well worth stopping in at Eddie and John at Nevertire, really nice coffee.

If you have an event coming up please let me know so I can pass it on for you. Saw a 50 ft. Waterfall between Cobar and Nyngan yesterday. The pipeline had burst! What a sight.

Take care now, travel safely and make sure you enjoy yourselves. Till next week cheers Bill Elliott  WCTA.
