Desert Peas, Underground Art Festival, dry roads, and more

Good morning all,

Hope you are all making the best of these fantastic days. And heaps more to come next week, in fact you can turn off the heaters this coming week and enjoy 24/25 degrees, dry roads, clear skies.

If you are down Hay way, the “Highway to Hell” Challenge is on starting from Hay at 9 AM next Saturday. Their first one, Hay to Ivanhoe in memory of Bill Baird the extraordinary mailman. If you’re about, have some fun and support them.

Then the Cobar Picnic Races are on the next weekend, that’s a big day on the 27th. in Cobar, and heaps more to see in the “copper” town while you’re there.

If you’re still up in Bourke though, you can take in the “Back-o-Bourke Boar Buster” on that same weekend, 26/28th. Heaps going on at Bourke that weekend and you can have a River Boat Cruise on the Sunday, how good is that! Still at Bourke, there’s a week of “1000 Stories” from 3rd. to 10th. Sept.

Now don’t forget, further out in ‘the sticks’ is “The Broken Heel Festival”, a really big show in the Silver City, on 9-10-11th. Sept.

Mixed in among all that, if you’re in Menindee, then they have a wopping big “Fishing Challenge” on the weekend of the 3-4th. September. You can toodle around to surrounding areas then and end up back at Menindee for their big Rugby League Knock-out Carnival on 17th. Sept. Early start too.

Stretching out a bit, but don’t forget the “Underground Art Festival” at White Cliffs, big annual event, 23/25th. Sept.
