Ivanhoe, Louth, Bourke activities, White Cliffs and more

Hello everyone,

This was a weekend full of activities, Ivanhoe, Louth, Bourke etc. no doubt it all went well. Great weather as well, and speaking of weather, no rain on the horizon for the next 10 or so days. That means you can be a bit adventurist and go off the beaten track, try out the roads less travelled, you’ll find friendly people when you get there.

Speaking of friendly people, welcome on board Ruth. We’re spreading even further.

Now, if you’re heading White Cliffs way, you can have free “Media lessons” next Friday, facebook, twitter  etc. they’re for everyone, I should go myself!! Then, next day, go out to  Louise at Goodwood Stn. and do a Writing and Photography course, bound to learn something.

But then if you are around Menindee on the 16th. (next Sunday), don’t miss their Trash and Treasure, at the school, good fun. I know you can’t be at both, but the Picnic Train is also on next Sunday in Broken Hill,

10 AM to1 PM. Just so much going on! And of course if you’re in “The Hill” you must take time to toodle out to Silverton, and duck out to the RFDS Base at the airport. As I said before, see a real Flying Doctor’s service in action and find some fantastic memorabilia while you’re there.

Back to “the inside country”, and we have the renowned Gunnedah Agquip Field Days on the 18-19-20th. If you’ve never been, then when is the last time you did something for the first time??

You’ll have to get back to Bourke in a hurry though, ‘cause the Major Fishing Comp is on there 21-23rd. Won’t there be some big ones caught then!

Moving on for those planning ahead: Modern Living Expo in Broken Hill at the racecourse, 29-30th. All local exhibitors I believe, well worth seeing. Festival of a 1000 Stories at Bourke on 5th Sept. And if you’re heading north, then be sure to patronise the Quilpie and District Show and Rodeo, it’s on the 12th. Sept.

Otherwise, take care, be sure to listen to our fabulous radio stations, 999, 1584, 657, 567, 585, 103.1 FM, and 107.7 FM. Look out for the guy next to you. Remember a stranger is only a friend you haven’t met yet.

Till we meet again, Cheers  Bill Elliott   WCTA.
