Sticks and stories
Submitted by Admin on Mon, 19/Dec/2011 - 4:01pm
Three French women came into the Miss Barretts today and enjoyed a few of our coffees. They then inquired about Colin Clark's "Clap Sticks", to whom I had to explain "I've been meaning to get the story for the sticks from him."
So to Anne-Marie, we'll have some information on your purchase soon (I hope).
:)
Received the following from Colin (to be augmented with more details later):
Col (Clark) works mainly with mulga, because of the colours, though needlewood, river red gum and the various boxes are also used. The actual art design comes to Col when he looks at the wood. The wood “tells” him what pattern and colours to use.
