Hay Show, Pooncarie Races and more
Firstly my apologies for bringing on the Cobar Show last time, an observant reader corrected me.
I think we will have to group by towns today as there are too many for you to choose from!
Now first up is the Hay Show on the 9th. Then we duck over to the Wentworth area with the Sunraysia Safari Rally running from the 6 to 9th. Throw a line in for the Fishing Comp at the Fort Courage Van Park on the 9th. and the Mildura/Wentworth Music Festival is happening down there from the 22nd. right through to the 30th, and
you can fit the Pooncarie Races in between on the 16th. and see the Pooncarie Cup run.
Meanwhile up at Broken Hill, things start with the Broken Heel Festival from the 7 to 11th.with the Markets in the middle on the 9th and the next weekend is the Silver City Show in full form on the 14 to 16th. and finish that weekend off with Rhythms of Ireland at the Civic Centre on the 16th.
Oh I forgot to say that the Enngonia Races for you racing fans are taking to the field on the 9th.
My friends at Bourke tell me that the Jandra River Cruises are in full swing and even extra ones included and while you’re there duck up and have a look at Ledknapper Nature Reserve, the flowers are brilliant. Drop into the Art Gallery etc too.
Now, Bands in the Bush is on at the Rugby Union Oval in Cobar on the 23rd. Flyer attached, and it’s free, and then toss up between going to the Booligal Sheep Races on the 30th. OR the Cobar Rodeo on the same day. Not for you? then maybe the Wentworth Show, 26-27th. Would you believe the “Let’s Dance Festival” is on in Carinda 29th. through to the 1st. October.
All roads are dry, we’re all ready to welcome you all, so drive carefully, have fun, and do something different every day. Till we meet again, Cheers from Wilcannia. Bill Elliott.
