Lots of vans, Wentworth Show and more
Good morning all,
I’m finding it difficult to count to 2 weeks! But then with all that’s happening, hopefully you have all been fully occupied.
The caravans passing through and stopping in our little town has been unprecedented. No doubt the Mundi Mundi Bask was a great success and full credit to those concerned.
Now Macca said this morning that the Wentworth Show is on next weekend, so that’s got to be right. Make sure you drop in to the Visitors centre there, have a yarn to the girls and they will have you seeing everything there is to see.
That brings us to September, and again a few things happening. We have the Hay Show on the 9th. The Broken Heel Festival is happening once again on the 7-11th. Guess you’ll have to give one of them a miss! But if you stick around the Hill, you can enjoy the Silver City Show on the 14-16th. Great fun there and plenty to choose from.
Then to cap it off that weekend there is “Rhythms of Ireland” performing at the Civic Centre at the finish of the Show on the 16th. Well worth seeing from past experience.
School holidays kick in then on the 28th., so again people heading everywhere, and to cap the month off you can have a ball at the Cobar Show on the 30th.
We won’t even look at October yet, but don’t forget to ‘take 5’ at our little towns, stop and say hi to the locals. Dry weather for the next week or so but always check with our road conditions if you are heading bush. And don’t forget to drop in to our many Farm Stays scattered round the outback.
Drive safe, if in doubt check our Wilcannia Tourism website, we’ll help you.
See you in 2 weeks, cheers, Bill Elliott.WCTA.
