Broken Hill CALCD Regional Forum

Date & Time:

Community Member Participants

Why should I attend?

The NSW AECG Inc has been responsible for the establishment of the NSW Centre for Aboriginal Languages Coordination and Development (CALCD).

The CALCD will be developing Regional and Local Aboriginal Languages Networks which will provide opportunities for Aboriginal communities across NSW to have direct input and management in the revitalisation, reclamation and maintenance of Aboriginal languages.

The Regional Forums are being conducted to explain this ‘new era’ in Aboriginal languages and to allow community to set the foundations of the CALCD.

We encourage representatives from all Aboriginal communities who have a vast interest in language and language programs to attend and be involved in this new movement.

What will I get out of the Forum?

The Regional Forums seek to

  • Provide communities with information on the establishment of the CALCD
  • Allow communities to have input into the CALCD policy development and direction
  • Plan the establishment and direction of Local Aboriginal Language Networks Community members will have the opportunity to network with others working with Aboriginal languages in their area.

How will I get to the Regional Forum?

Community members participating will have their fuel costs reimbursed subject to prior approval

What about accommodation?

Accommodation is available for those participants travelling more than 1.5 hours one way. There are a limited number of places so early registration is required should you wish to secure your spot.

What about my meals?
