Stories are how we make sense of our lives
This workshop will help anyone interested in writing about some aspect of their life - including growing up or living in the local area, relationship with the land, local history or travel and experiences of other cultures. Whether your interest is in memoir, articles for a newspaper or magazine, poetry or essay, this workshop will support your writing. Practical experience of various writing techniques are included in the workshop. A range of exercises assist with story selection, planning, getting started, overcoming blocks, editing – and writing that’s enjoyable to read. The workshop is suitable for both beginners and more experienced writers.
Drawing on his background in adult learning and community development Graeme Gibson has presented writing workshops since 2007. He has contributed to a number of short story collections and self-published the nonfiction book “Beyond Fear and Loathing: Local politics at work”. See www.morethanjusttalk.com.au
