The biggest news in the state-----, this week is the 50th. anniversary of St. Patricks Race Day coming up next Saturday in Broken Hill. You’ve got to be there. A  great weekend for all. Actually it’s all happening in Broken Hill, The Fringe Festival started last Thursday (you’ve missed the start!), and continues till 15th. Continuous activities, heaps of fun in the old Hill. Listen in to ABC 999, or 2BH 567, for what’s happening on your day.

Would you believe there’s also Old Time Dancing every Wed. And Fri. nights at St. Pat’s Hall in Crystal St. –Broken Hill of course!

If you’re down Ivanhoe way, then the refurbished Pub is now in full swing. Meals and accommodation available, and then swing over to Wendy at the Servo and she will fill you up for your trip.

Things are gearing up here in Wilcannia, both Coffee Shops are open, Jen and Joe have Warrawong “ticking” and a better meal than the Golf Club Restaurant you won’t find!

Looking down the line, we have Shear Outback Festival of the Shears at Hay on the 4th. Apl. Menindee Community Markets on the 5th. Apl. Which is every month me thinks. Just realised too, the Broken Hill Community Markets are on 14th. next Saturday !! If you’re not a racing fan, go to the markets!!

If you are new on line, welcome. Please send in anything you have on and we will let all know. If you are down in the “inside country then tune into ABC western Plains 657, or Outback radio 2WEB 585, it goes everywhere.

Enjoy the cooler weather, check road conditions before you head into the wild blue yonder, take care, Bill Elliott  WCTA.
