Anzac Day, Farm Stay ...

Certainly hope you all had a great Easter weekend. Great weather for it all around the outback, and I hope all your events went off without a hitch. Including the Packsaddle Gymkhana which I omitted to advertise for you guys, please keep me in the loop.

We had big numbers through our Driver Reviver road stop over the 4 days, and from all points of the compass. It makes the world seem very small sometimes.

For those of you who love a good classic movie, Nyngan is staging “The King and I”, how good was that! It’s on Thursday week 7th. Flyer attached, if you’re kicking about.

Of course the next big day for all communities is Anzac Day. I’m not even going to tell you the date! All our towns would like to have you join in if you are near any of us.

Warrawong Caravan Park now has another 5 self contained units on line so plenty of accommodation in Wilcannia. And don’t let it slip your memory, our Big 150 year celebration Field and Fun Day, long weekend in June. Old Wilcannia identities are returning in big numbers, thought we had His Excellency Peter Cosgrove as GOH, but not to be, god knows we tried. a full programme available soon.

Now, while things are a bit quiet, why don’t you check out a few things in Broken Hill if you are within cooee of the big city. RFDS Base is a must to see. Art Galleries scattered everywhere. A short trip out to Silverton, also a must. And when you think you’ve seen it all, drop into the Visitors Information Centre and the fabulous staff there will direct you further.

All you Farm Stay people, or anyone for that matter, we have the poly welding man coming this week and on. So if you have a disgarded poly tank with a split in it, ring Roger on 0427013066, he’ll weld it for you.

Was great to meet so many people passing through on the weekend, take care with your travelling, little if any chance of wet roads, temperatures almost perfect, stop and say hullo to a stranger, you’re bound to learn something.

Catch you all next week, have a good one,  cheers Bill Elliott,  WCTA.
