strange weather, BBQ, Topar and Menindee Art Exhibition

Really strange weather isn’t it? 15 degrees here, cloudy, windy, not flying weather. A big thanks to Donna at Nyngan and John in Cobar for the brochures, good on you both. Speaking of that, we need some “Outback Beds” pads please, whoever has them. Jim has moved on to greater things now and Chris and I are taking Miss Barretts Coffee Shop back, so look forward to seeing you all. Should be reopened next Thursday.

Few things on in Menindee this week if you are travelling that way.

Thursday there’s a BBQ in the Park compliments of Centacare. You can then wander over to Topar and you will definitely enjoy the Topar Campdraft on Saturday, great day. Then if you feel up to it you can toodle back to Menindee and wander round the Community markets there on Sunday.

If, of course you are “down inside” you can be entertained at Nyngan on Friday night at the production of “The Exchange” at the Nyngan hall, and then go to the Duck Creek Picnic Races next day, Saturday. What a weekend.

By the way when in Menindee check out the Art Exhibition at the Darling River Gallery, it’s on for a month.

Think that covers it for this week, guess you can’t make them all!  Now here’s an idea, our monthly Tourism meeting is on next Friday, at the Wilcannia Golf Club, 6-30 PM. (governed to 1 hr.) If you happen to be staying in town Friday night we would love to meet you, tell us your story, have a laugh with us, and then enjoy our Chinese Restaurant afterwards for a meal. Half an idea? AND we won’t ask you to join!

Again, till next week, take care and drive carefully, cheers Bill Elliott WCTA.
