Ivanhoe Market Day

Hello everyone,

We are obviously getting to the end of the year. Not a lot happening around the traps. Might be a few things I don’t know about of course.

We do have sales coming up next Saturday. It’s called the National Garage Sale, it’s a sale of surplus equipment throughout the Shire, Central Darling Shire that is. So next Saturday you will find heaps of ‘trash and treasure’ for sale in our 4 towns, Wilcannia, White Cliffs, Ivanhoe and Menindee.

Definitely worth your while to drop in to any of our towns and have a wander round the gear.

Speaking of this area, we are still down a Caravan Park unfortunately. Victory Caravan Park is still in limbo, however Warrawong on the Darling is bustling with activity having held 2 two day Conferences out there last week and catered for them as well.

Moving down the calendar a bit but a must to remember is The Ivanhoe Market Day, it’s all happening on Saturday 22nd. Nov. This is Arts, Crafts and a thousand other things going on.

Still a lot of caravans poking about so don’t forget to have a day or 2 at some of our National Park camping areas. Kinchega if you are near Menindee and of course Wilga (Coach and horses) if you are heading up the Darling from Wilcannia.

Temperatures this week are going for a hike up to nearly 40, so just take that little bit more care, make sure you have water with you, look out for your mates, and it’s always a good idea to listen to the local radio station. Around Wilcannia it’s River Radio FM 103.1 or ABC 1584, all over the outback, it’s Broken Hill ABC 999 and Outback Radio 2WEB Bourke on 585.

So, have a great week, all roads are open, drop in for a coffee if you’re in Wilcannia and drive safe.  Cheers Bill Elliott  WCTA.
