Road conditions, National Parks info

Good morning everyone,

You don’t need weather forecasts this week, just don’t go on an unsealed road, fullstop! What a great rain for the country. A bit more after this lot finishes too they tell me, about next Thursday.

I seem to be out of the loop a bit with what’s going on about the bush. Or on the other hand there may not be much happening just now.

If you’re down Menindee way, and it would have to be via the bitumen, there’s a Trivia night at Maidens hotel on Thursday starting at 7, and all welcome.

If you’re staying in Broken Hill, then you can catch up with Karaoke at the Palace Hotel on Wednesday night. The Twilight Markets there on Friday night. And then you may as well head out to Silverton, (bitumen road) and relax with Peter and Patsy. Don’t forget also a look at the RFDS Base in action, great people out there and a lot to see.

This wet weather may disrupt a tour or two, and close the National Parks, but take the time to check them out as I’m sure they will have something up their sleeve to entertain you.

Again, listen to our fabulous radio stations, they will keep you up to date, and maybe settle in to a good book or two! a glass of red is also permissible after 5 they tell me!

Hope i have more for you all next week and you have some dry roads to explore by then.

Take it easy now, and do a Sudoku or two maybe.  Cheers,  Bill Elliott,   Wilcannia Tourism Association.
