Cobb Highway funding, printing brochures

Good news, no fantastic news, had a ring from John Elliott on Friday, our representative on State Council of the National Party. It was announced 5 minutes before at the National Party Conference in Queanbeyan by Andrew Stoner that the Cobb Highway and the Silver City Highway will receive $50 million for the completion of both State highways! This will be announced tomorrow night in the State Budget. How good is that. We are very proud and grateful to John for his untiring work on seeking funding for the Cobb over the last 4 or 5 years particularly, and he did it.  He also received a commendation at the Conference on Friday.

How good is that! Now, coming up, we have a live production at the Palais Theatre in Nyngan featuring “The Exchange”, that’s on the 27th. should be good. The Topar Camp Draft, all welcome at Topar on the 28th. coming soon. If you are heading to the “inside country” you can drop in to the Duck Creek Picnic Races at Nyngan also on the 28th.

Then if you are around Menindee, you can enjoy the Menindee Markets on Sunday the 29th. Duck across from Topar!

If you are a racing fan and enjoyed the Nyngan Races then trek on to the Muswellbrook Races on the 3rd. July.

And back on our own turf you can’t miss the Fishing Comp at Tilpa over 3 great days, 11-12-13th. July.

If anyone has a “sky hook” we need a method of getting brochures around to us all. Virginia at Emmdale Roadhouse would like brochures from all and sundry so she can promote you all, as we also need here in town actually.

If you are thinking of printing some and at a loss, can guarantee Graphic Print in Richmond, Adelaide. Obviously there are many other good printers but we found Sande really good and cheap.

Probably enough for this week, what a week, and what an enormous difference a sealed Cobb  and Silver City will make to this top end. Cheers for now Bill Elliott WCTA
