White Cliffs Music Festival, Barwonnie Expo, Anabranch Picnic Day ...

Hello all,

This weather is just fantastic, if you’re not trying to keep stock alive. There doesn’t seem to be drop of rain in sight either so you can explore those dirt roads less travelled and find all the quirky places.

There’s a lot happening in the next week or two. Barwonnie Expo, if you’re in the Ivanhoe area. It’s on at the Mossgiel Hall on Wednesday, well worth seeing then  head back to Ivanhoe, meals at the RSL Club now on a Thursday and Sunday, stay with Barb, Wendy or the Pub, and go along to Loz’s Quilting and Needlework display on Saturday, they have catering and all for you. You ladies will really enjoy the day.

If you’re over Broken Hill way, you’re going to be flat out. Duck down to the 100th. Anabranch Picnic Day next Saturday, not to be missed. Then Sunday, everyone is going out to Peter and Patsy at the Silverton Hotel for the Country Music Round Up. Great day there and good music.

While you’re in The Hill, do a short trip with Tri-State Safaris, heaps to choose from and I personally know Mick and Jo will look after you. And of course there’s the RFDS Base, a real Flying Doctor Base in operation, inspections, audio/visual, and outback hospitality.

Moving on to the next weekend, you have to toodle out to White Cliffs for their Gymkhana on the 23rd.-24th. great little town and good people. If you’re exhausted after all that activity, then come back to our little town and relax at the Warrawong Caravan Park and let Ann and John spoil you.

Don’t forget Anzac Day, services in all our little towns out here, and we all welcome you. Don’t forget it’s school holidays, and National Parks have some really good tours and information in all the National Parks out west. Too many to put in so go into their Website, it’s all there.

If this neck of the woods is out of your way, then Bourke is the place to be next weekend, the Bourke Show is on again. And of course there’s the river cruises at Bourke, almost every day, call at the VIC up there and Margaret will plan your week for you.

Grab your diary and put in Furniture Painting in Ivanhoe on the 30th. Wagga gold Cup race meeting 6th. May. AGFAIR, in Broken Hill 6th-7th. May. White Cliffs Music Festival 20th-22nd. May. If I give you any more you’ll forget it!

Drive safely now, careful at night, the roos are really dangerous on the road. Listen in to our fabulous radio Stations, ABC 657, 999, 1584.  2BH Broken Hill 567 Outback radio 585, River Radio Wilcannia 103.1 FM, Broken Hill 107.7 FM. No matter where you are one of them are there to help you.

Look after yourselves and have fun, cheers  Bill Elliott.  WCTA.
