Here’s a real challenge for you to attend ALL functions this week end. Spread from Silverton, to Menindee and White Cliffs!

You can start at the Silverton Hotel where Peter and Patsy will welcome you to their Country Rock night next Friday, big night there.

Then you have to be in Menindee, bright and chirpy Saturday morning, line in hand for the “Menindee Fishing Challenge”. This runs over Saturday and Sunday with a camp oven “cook off” thrown in! So you travellers who fancy some camp oven meals, why not try your hand?

However if you are more into BBQ’s, then you head up to White Cliffs, enjoy the “Father’s Day Cricket match on (obviously) Sunday, and then there’s a BBQ at the Pub that evening. If you fancy yourself as a cricketer you may even be sought after!

Now, the following week end, (so you’re heading in the right direction), we have the Darling River Golf Challenge at Menindee on the 13^th. Then you duck round to the Menindee Hall for the “Country Music night at 7 PM.

Music, Golf, Cricket, Fishing, outback travelling, what more could you wish for?? To cap all that off you can be entertained while you’re travelling by our ever popular local ABC in Broken Hill on 999 or if you are in a bull’s roar of Wilcannia then those smiling voices are on our transmitter 1584, can’t miss ‘em. Or our other dependable radio across the whole “outback” is 2WEB in famous Bourke, on 585, you’re never alone.

By the way, bit of rain forecast this week, check road reports won’t you, don’t get caught.
