Comedy Tour dates, Derby Day Balranald Races, etc

Hello everyone,

It’s all happening this week in far flung regions of the west. No prediction on the weather though, don’t know what we are in for really.

We start tomorrow night,  with a big thanks to sponsors, Richmond PRA. Presenting “The Drought Drubbing Comedy Tour” in a town you may be passing through. All starting at 6-30 PM.

  • Bourke MPC Hall , tomorrow, 28th.
  • Moree town Hall, 29th.
  • Narrabri Crossing Theatre, 30th.
  • Collarenebri Bowling Club,31st.
  • Walgett Sporties Club, 1st. Nov.
  • Coonamble Bowling Club, 3rd.

If you are anywhere within co-ey of these towns should be a great night out.

Now all roads lead to Balranald too on the 1st. Nov. For the Annual “Derby Day Balranald Races”. Big day down there if you can make it.

Speaking of races, the Melbourne Cup Calcutta will be held as usual at the Ivanhoe RSL Club, 8 PM Monday 3rd. Go and stir them up.

Moving on to the 8th. Nov. (Saturday), if you are anywhere near Nyngan, they will entertain you there at The Palais Theatre, they have the Titles Fight Night, doors open at 6 PM, refreshments are on.

Keep in mind also, the “125 years Anniversary of the IVANHOE School”. Big day happening there, old and present students on the 21st. Nov.

Ivanhoe Market Day

Hello everyone,

We are obviously getting to the end of the year. Not a lot happening around the traps. Might be a few things I don’t know about of course.

We do have sales coming up next Saturday. It’s called the National Garage Sale, it’s a sale of surplus equipment throughout the Shire, Central Darling Shire that is. So next Saturday you will find heaps of ‘trash and treasure’ for sale in our 4 towns, Wilcannia, White Cliffs, Ivanhoe and Menindee.

Definitely worth your while to drop in to any of our towns and have a wander round the gear.

Speaking of this area, we are still down a Caravan Park unfortunately. Victory Caravan Park is still in limbo, however Warrawong on the Darling is bustling with activity having held 2 two day Conferences out there last week and catered for them as well.

Moving down the calendar a bit but a must to remember is The Ivanhoe Market Day, it’s all happening on Saturday 22nd. Nov. This is Arts, Crafts and a thousand other things going on.

Week off, Gem Festival, etc

Hi everyone!!

No, I didn’t go on holidays. I was simply ‘technologically Challenged’, in a really big way! Now I know there is “cut and paste”!!

I actually had last weeks ready to send, but there’s no use telling you what happened Saturday and yesterday now is there.

Lets move on and my apologies for the “week off”. I’m sure the Gem Fest and Car Boot sale at White Cliffs would have been a great success as well as all the happenings over the long weekend, and there were quite a few.

Looking through my notes there is a distinct lack of happenings in the near future. If, by any chance you are heading down Muswellbrook way, then they have a “Afternoon of Fine Music” next Sunday afternoon. There you go, Macca in the morning and Muswellbrook in the arvo.

If you are racing minded, the Nanua Picnic Races and Gymkhana is on next weekend as well. Certainly won’t interfere with Muswellbrook! So if you’re down that way?? Then you could move up to the Hill for the “Outback Challenge” (cross country  4x4 event) happening 17th. to 24th. Then to finish the week off, get your ‘good gear’ out for the “Silver City” Races happening the next day (25th.) in the big city,
