Sunset Strip Golf Championships etc

Bit of rain on the horizon they tell me. Unsealed roads may be a bit slippery Wednesday/Thursday. Now I’m not a weather man, but we’ll see what ‘appens.

First on the agenda this week is the Menindee Family Fun Day next Thursday, there’s a BBQ  on as well.

Can’t find much for you next week end, however the long week end is full.

We have, The Macquarie River Artist Muster at Warren from the 29th. through to the 6th. Oct.

The Dorper Ram Sale in Ivanhoe on the 3rd. Oct. Great to see the Ivanhoe Sale yards being used again, be well worth a look.

Then there’s the Sunset Strip Golf Championships, they are lining up on Sat. 4th., big day.

Nymagee Gymkhana is on also on the long Weekend, and speaking of Gymkhana’s, The Big Re-union Gymkhana at Tibooburra starts on the Friday night and is jam packed with entertainment through to Sunday night, big weekend up in the Corner Country.

Gold Star Festival, Golf, and White Cliff Arts Festival

Well, I wonder how many of you saw Channel 9 decimate our little town on their Saturday night news. An ill-informed reporter looking for sensationalism has put our quest to be a friendly town back another few years.

Sure hope those camp ovens were sizzling at Menindee over the week end and the fish were biting. Don’t forget that Menindee is the place to be next week end also when they have the Darling River Golf challenge next Saturday. This is followed by their Country and Western Night at the Hall.

Here’s a real challenge for you to attend ALL functions this week end. Spread from Silverton, to Menindee and White Cliffs!

You can start at the Silverton Hotel where Peter and Patsy will welcome you to their Country Rock night next Friday, big night there.

Then you have to be in Menindee, bright and chirpy Saturday morning, line in hand for the “Menindee Fishing Challenge”. This runs over Saturday and Sunday with a camp oven “cook off” thrown in! So you travellers who fancy some camp oven meals, why not try your hand?
